Line the pan with parchment paper. Preheat the oven at 180c.

Add cold milk to the room temperature vegetable oil and mix until fully mixed. Add vanilla extract and salt and mix.
Whisk the egg whites with a hand mixer until bubbles appear. Add the sugar 1/3 at a time while whisking at low speed. Once all the sugar is added, switch to medium/high speed until soft peaks.
Add egg yolks and whisk lightly to incorporate them.
Sift cocoa powder and flour into the mixture and fold them.
Once all the powder disappears, pour a small amount into the oil mixture and mix it well. Add the oil mixture into the rest of the cake mixture and mix it through.
Pour the mixture into the pan and tap the bottom to release any air bubbles.
Bake it at 180c for 30 - 40mins
