  1. Prepare 250 gms chicken curry cut
  2. Get 1 cup yogurt

  6. Get 1 inch cinnamon stick
  7. Make ready 1 tsp mace powder
  8. Take 1 tsp green cardamom powder
  9. Make ready 1/2 tsp degi Mirch powder
  10. Get 1 tsp turmeric powder
  11. Get 1 tsp coriander powder
  12. Get 1 large cooked onion paste
  13. Get 1 Tbsp cooked cashew nut and chironji paste
  14. Prepare 1 tsp Rose Water
  15. Get 1 tsp Kewra Water
  16. Prepare 1 cup water
  17. Get 2 tsp coriander leaves
  18. Prepare to taste Salt
  19. Get 4 Tbsp ghee
Instructions to make Awadhi Chicken Korma:
  1. Wash the chicken pieces. In a bowl add yoghurt and add turmeric powder, deghi Mirch powder, coriander powder and whisk and set aside
  2. In a wok heat ghee and add bay leaf, green cardamoms, whole black peppercorns, cinnamon stick, mace powder and cook for 1 min. Make a paste of cooked onion. Make a paste of cooked cashew nuts & chironji
  3. Add chicken pieces and cook for 4-5 mins. Add the yogurt and cook for 2-3 mins
  4. The ghee should leave surface. Take out the chicken pieces and keep in a separate bowl and sieve the curry to cook further. Add Rose water, kewra water, 1/2 tsp mace powder and cardamom powder. Stir.
  5. In a separate gas flame place the coal and cook for 2 min. Place the burnt coal in a bowl and add that bowl to the centre of the curry which is being slow cooked. Add 1 tsp ghee, 1-2 cloves and cover to get the Awadhi flavour. Remove the bowl with the coal. Re-add the chicken pieces
  6. Add little mace powder and set aside
  7. Plate and garnish with coriander leaves. Enjoy with rice or Parathe
