The ingredients needed to make Gajar Halwa:
  1. Take 1 kg carrots
  2. Take 1 cup khoya
  3. Make ready 500 ml milk
  4. Make ready 1/2 cup ghee
  5. Make ready 1/2 cup chopped dry fruits
  6. Prepare 1/2 cup sugar
  7. Make ready 1/2 tsp kewra water
  8. Get 2 green cardemoms
Steps to make Gajar Halwa:
  1. Cut carrots into pieces.Add milk and cook on low flame for 10 minutes.
  2. Mash carrots.
  3. Heat a heavy bottomed kadahi,add ghee and cardemoms.Add carrots.Stir with a heavy ladle/kafgeer
  4. Cook on low-medium flame till moisture reduced.Stir in between.Add sugar and stir ttill carrot is thick It will take 15-20 minutes.
  5. When carrot is thick,add khoya and stir well.
  6. Add dry fruits also.Cook on low flame for 10-15 minutes or till ghee seperates.
  7. Put off flame,add kewra water and garnish with some dry fruits and silver foil(optional)
  8. Serve.
